Now live: Swivel TV

Vancouver, BC—Friday, October 10th, 2003—Today Swivel announced the launching of an all new web phenomenon- Swivel TV. Independent filmmaker and photographer resources are now here.

Swivel TV has been in the works for over 2 years. At first, the goal of the site was to use Swivel's streaming technologies to simply entertain users and teach them about the various products and services Swivel offers its customers. This concept very quickly developed into a product suite — rather than just entertainment — that Swivel could provide consumers with. Formerly, the company only targeted commercial customers.

Thus, the model is such that Swivel now welcomes a new market entirely, but not to stray from its core business. Rather, to augment it and strengthen it. It is understood that corporate customers have lives outside of work, hobbies and such, and a large percentage of individuals now own digital cameras, taking video and still pictures of family, friends and so forth. It is then only a logical conclusion to draw that, if they are already customers in one area, satisfied by the services provided to their company, they are simply customers waiting to happen upon SWIVEL consumer products. Conversely, it also goes without saying that consumers satisfied with Swivel TV services would consider using Swivel corporate services for their company or organization.

The first phase of Swivel TV is just a glimpse of what is coming. Right now, users can sign up for the premiere service which will enable them to launch their own Swivel TV channel, publicly or privately available as desired. This service will be launching in December. Photographers will be able to upload, edit and display images in shows (galleries) of their own design to the world. Visitors to their channels will actually be able to search through and view photos as organized by the channel producer (Swivel customer).

At launch Swivel added royalty-free stock footage to its product line. This library of footage contains hundreds of broadcast-quality DV clips for use in video production. It is so affordable that while suitable for and popular with corporate producers, can be obtained for use by independent filmmakers and enthusiasts to create first rate productions on a low budget.

Expect more innovations in product offerings from SWIVEL in the coming months and through 2004.
